“He is so handsome, smart, funny, he’s practically everything that I would want in a man…well, except for the fact that he doesn’t have a steady job and I can’t seem to get him to open up about his future plans…but despite all that, I can’t help but fall for him anyway.”

I could still remember those exact words that my best friend had gushed about when she first met the new guy at the office she worked in. I couldn’t help but be amused with how she went on and on about him, and yet it also got me thinking about certain things. What kind of qualities do men and women tend to look for when it comes to dating. I know that a single Christian with amazing qualities would be something that most Christian women and men would want for a partner.

I have witnessed many Christians dating and have experienced it as well. I tend to start wondering what are the most common qualities people are looking for when it comes to Christians dating. I guess it all starts with the girl and guy. If we want to know the qualities, then we need to find out directly from them.

So after my talk with my best friend, I decided to just that. I gathered my Christian girlfriend and guys friends and discussed it with them. I figured that being able to know more about qualities would eventually help me understand Christians dating in a new way and what they would like to do and what they expect throughout a date.

After I talked with my different girl friends I found many similar answer in the attractive qualities they looked for in a guy. It was almost all the same things my best friend was gushing about. The first quality they look for is a guy who is passionate about God. They want to see a man who is in love with Jesus and truly keeps as the foundation of his life. Secondly, they want a man who is honest about his feelings and trustworthy. They want to feel secure that there is a guy who is not afraid to show even his most sensitive emotion and who will be faithful to them till the end.

Third, women find a man with a good sense of humor attractive. A man who can make them laugh even despite life’s difficulties is someone worth keeping. Fourth they want a guy who is stable in life. In other words, someone who has a steady job and can take good care of them in life. Finally, they look for a guy who is physically attractive.

As for the men, they also first look for a God-fearing woman; second, they need a woman who can understand them and their needs and desires. Third, a woman who can encourage them and build them up instead of tear them down is someone to keep. Fourth, they want a woman who will respect them. And they finally also look for a physically attractive woman.

Many Christians dating look for these qualities in a potential partner. So if you find yourself on that dating boat. Then may you find the attractive qualities that you are looking for.
